Drug
Detox
"Shorecliffs Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center offers the
most current and advanced Outpatient Drug Detox and Residential
Sober Living"
Q: What is Outpatient Drug Detox and Residential Sober Living?
A: Clients are seen by a doctor and prescribed medications in scheduled
sessions during the day, then are free to relax and rest in a residential
environment at night
Our unique approach allows clients to tackle seemingly insurmountable
issues in a structured environment during the day then process
the information and rest in a quiet residential drug-free environment
at night.
Groups and one on one therapy can be intensive and thought provoking.
Relaxation time is as important for growth as actual one on one
and group therapy. Clients are given as much work and therapy
as they can handle then allowed to rest in a homelike setting.
Drug Detox
Info
There are as many varieties and combinations of drugs used as there
are drug detox protocols to treat various types of drug problems.
In recent years we find that there are few people who use one
particular drug exclusively. It is very common nowadays to see
persons entering outpatient drug detox that use alcohol and cocaine,
or alcohol and prescription medications for example. Some drug
detox centers offer outpatient medical detox, others don't. Some
offer day treatment services as well as outpatient detox services.
Alcohol detox may be life threatening while heroin detox is not.
Although heroin detox is painful without medications in drug rehab,
some outpatient drug detox centers use medication to help heroin
users get through detox comfortably. Alcohol detox on the other
hand may not feel as painful, but certainly requires medication
and medical monitoring to ensure safety.
When alcohol is combined with anxiety medications the result is
that is even more important to prescribe the correct levels of
medication to drug detox center clients because the anxiety drugs
that these people take may render normal detox drugs useless.
In these cases, medical drug detox is done using alternative medications
that are just as effective.
Persons that have histories involving methamphetamines or cocaine
may suffer from intrusive thoughts that may interfere with their
ability to stay in treatment. These thoughts and the resultant
paranoia tend to go away over a period of time but it is important
to stabilize these clients using medication if necessary until
these drugs completely leave the body.
Shorecliffs Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center provides outpatient drug
rehab and day treatment services after drug detox is complete. It
is rarely enough to simply remove drugs for recovery to be complete.
Drug rehab gives persons the tools to remain free of drug addiction
for life. |
